About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Configure, maintain, and optimize the z/OS customer environment
- Maintain availability, reliability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including escalated incidents requiring deep technical analysis
- Support change management, including testing and implementing approved system changes
- Collaborate with other z/OS teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Document system configurations, procedures, and resolutions
- Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical college degree and/or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of ISPF, JES2, JCL, REXX, SMP/E, PCOMM, Parallel Sysplex, Disaster Recovery, and product maintenance/upgrades
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving complex system/infrastructure issues
- Knowledge of system programming practices for the specific role
- Experience with incident, problem, change, and inventory management processes
- Demonstrated focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments
- Experience with automation tools or scripting for system programming tasks (preferred)
- Familiarity with zCloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments (preferred)
- Experience in multi-vendor or enterprise-scale IT environments (preferred)
- Relevant technical certifications (preferred)
