About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Answer all hotline phone lines in a timely and professional manner
  • Support callers to the suicide hotline through crisis phone interventions
  • Assess clinical situations and caller needs
  • Provide safe and effective clinical interventions
  • Recommend appropriate referrals for available services
  • Complete thorough, clear, and accurate clinical documentation
  • Forward internal referrals to appropriate programs with required information
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients/customers
  • Monitor call-in times for clients placed on a 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Assist the hotline clinical coordinator in training new staff
  • Ensure program forms are stocked and the hotline area is clean and organized
  • Complete required reading and projects benefiting Crisis or other departments
  • Work evenings and nights as needed
  • Attend in-person meetings, training, agency activities, and events upon request

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field required for Therapist roles
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the behavioral health field
  • Crisis Experience preferred
  • Experience working with Veterans and Veteran family members preferred
  • Passion for working in support of Military Veterans, their families, and our military
  • Must be an Arizona resident
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Evening and night hours may be required
  • Willingness to work beyond the scheduled shift without advance warning when crisis situations warrant or paperwork is incomplete
  • Attendance at required meetings and training, including outside regularly scheduled hours
  • Attendance at in-person meetings, training, and agency activities and events upon request
