About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other testing
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
- Work in a Patient Service Center or Client office
- Perform skilled specimen collections and serve as the face of the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- California state-issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
- 3 months or more of experience as a phlebotomist
- Application for a phlebotomy license filed with the California Department of Health at time of hire may meet the license requirement
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation
- Preferred: 1 year or more of experience as a phlebotomist
- Preferred: Current or prior experience at LabCorp
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience with geriatric and pediatric patients
