About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other testing
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to patients
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
  • Work in a float role across Jacksonville and Orange Park clinics/locations
  • Gain experience with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • At least 21 years old
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • For work experience in lieu of experience requirements, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Preferred: Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
