About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Float to Chicago, Woodridge, Niles, Skokie, and Westchester, Illinois
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
- Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
- Work Monday through Friday with scheduled hours varying between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, rotating Saturdays, and 40 hours per week
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency when used in lieu of work experience
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- Be at least 21 years old
- Preferred: 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience with all age patients
