About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple, high-priority projects and programs supporting business growth and innovation
- Collaborate across departments to align project outcomes with strategic goals
- Build and manage detailed work plans, drive milestones, and deliver updates to key stakeholders
- Analyze options, manage risk and change, and support data-driven decisions
- Lead project management teams delivering projects across different areas of the business
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Break complex projects into simpler tasks and set goals and timeframes
- Plan, budget, and manage resources, including forecasting needs and tracking costs
- Lead cross-functional teams and vendors, resolve conflicts, guide prioritization, and mentor peers
- Communicate project status through updates, documentation, presentations, and reports to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Analyze workflows, performance metrics, and business needs to identify gaps and continuously improve processes and decision-making
- Work in a high-volume, production-based environment supporting clinical laboratory science
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 1 or more years of project management experience
- ASCP or AMT Certification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate laboratory data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations
- Familiarity with LIS, EHR, instrument, and middleware interfaces
- Knowledge of laboratory regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with laboratory leadership, pathologists, clinicians, IT teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders
- 3 or more years of Blood Bank/Transfusion Services experience in an acute care hospital or health system laboratory strongly preferred
- 1 or more years of experience working in an acute care hospital or integrated health system laboratory environment preferred
- 1 or more years of experience with major hospital LIS platforms such as Epic Beaker, SoftLab/SoftBank, Cerner Millennium, or comparable systems
- 1 or more years participating in user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, and post-implementation system optimization
- 1 or more years of experience supporting Hospital Laboratory Information System (LIS) implementations, upgrades, workflow analysis, validations, testing activities, and go-live support
