About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a region including supervisors and phlebotomists in patient service centers and/or client office locations
  • Coach and mentor supervisory and phlebotomy staff
  • Work with large accounts to support operational services through phlebotomy
  • Update and implement policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations and company mandates
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations
  • Resolve client matters and customer complaints
  • Maintain patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels
  • Complete financial analyses for department-related positions
  • Complete periodic inspections of patient service centers
  • Report performance, compliance, and staffing issues and coordinate resolutions
  • Perform payroll, monthly scheduling, and performance appraisals
  • Manage costs by minimizing employee turnover and controlling overtime
  • Assist with setup of new Patient Service Centers and/or client offices
  • Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
  • Oversee phlebotomy teams across a region serving 20+ physician-office clients and Patient Service Centers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience in Phlebotomy
  • 2 years or more experience as a supervisor
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Experience with MS Office programs
  • Associate degree preferred
  • 8 years or more phlebotomy experience preferred
  • 2 years or more supervisory experience in phlebotomy preferred
