About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the day-to-day operations of a region including supervisors and phlebotomists working in patient service centers and/or client office locations
Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisory and phlebotomy staff
Support operational services through phlebotomy for large accounts
Update and implement policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations and company mandates
Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations
Resolve client matters and customer complaints
Maintain patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels
Complete financial analyses for department-related positions
Complete periodic inspections of patient service centers
Report performance, compliance, or staffing issues and work toward resolution
Perform payroll, monthly scheduling, and performance appraisals
Manage costs by minimizing employee turnover and controlling overtime
Assist with setup of new Patient Service Centers and/or client offices
Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed
Travel to additional sites as necessary
Oversee phlebotomy teams serving a 20+ client base of physician offices and Patient Service Centers

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED or equivalent
5 years or more experience in Phlebotomy
2 years or more experience as a supervisor
In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
Knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage and mentor a team
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Experience with MS Office programs
