About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers
  • Provide guidance on policies, benefits, leave, performance management, and employee relations
  • Support managers with development conversations, performance feedback, and corrective action
  • Conduct and support employee-relations inquiries and workplace investigations
  • Administer employee benefits, open enrollment, compliance, brokers, and vendors
  • Process and audit payroll through Paylocity, including employee changes, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and corrections
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring, recruiting, and onboarding
  • Conduct exit interviews and coordinate offboarding
  • Maintain job descriptions, job-leveling frameworks, and compensation structures
  • Support performance reviews with tools, guidance, and training
  • Coordinate training on performance management, manager effectiveness, compliance, and engagement
  • Monitor employment laws and recommend policy and procedure updates
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports and workforce data
  • Improve HR processes, templates, programs, and resources
  • Collaborate with the HR team to deliver consistent HR services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR experience supporting managers and employees in payroll, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, federal and state employment laws, and the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience processing and auditing payroll through an HRIS or payroll platform
  • Experience using an HRIS for onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, reporting, and employee data management
  • Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote environment
  • Candidate must reside in the United States
  • Preferred: experience in a government contracting environment
  • Preferred: proficiency in Paylocity
  • Preferred: experience in an employee-owned (ESOP) organization
  • Preferred: experience supporting a distributed workforce in consulting, health IT, or professional-services environments
