About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, manage, and supervise KM colleagues assigned to the Practice Group, including KM Counsel and KM Lawyers
  • Provide guidance and support the growth and development of KM Team members
  • Develop and oversee implementation of a framework for practicing lawyers’ involvement in Practice Group KM activities
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of workflow and responsibility between practicing lawyers and KM Team
  • Provide recommendations on recruiting strategy for the KM Team
  • Distill extensive internal deal datasets to prepare market insights for internal and external use
  • Monitor the deal landscape, focusing on the Firm’s data and experience
  • Identify emerging trends for practice leadership
  • Lead development of materials communicating insights to practice group members, clients, and prospective clients
  • Collaborate with Technology & IS leadership, including the Legal Innovation team
  • Drive development and implementation of AI-based workflows to streamline extraction and analysis of key deal provisions from Firm databases and operative documents
  • Develop and execute the Practice Group’s KM strategy
  • Establish annual and ongoing priorities
  • Ensure adequate resourcing
  • Oversee all aspects of the Practice Group’s KM activities and workflow

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep subject matter knowledge of litigation, regulatory, or tax practices, including market standards, deal structures, and regulatory frameworks relevant to KM resource development
  • Strong ability to quickly and fully understand the Practice Group’s strategy and priorities
  • Strong ability to quickly build a deep understanding of the areas of expertise and nature of services provided by the Practice Group and KM Team
  • JD or equivalent
  • Admission to at least one US State Bar or other jurisdiction in which the firm operates
  • Progressively responsible practice management experience in a legal or other professional services environment
  • Experience in a management role
  • Experience as a practicing attorney with a leading international law firm
  • Significant experience in litigation, regulatory, or tax practices
