About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Expand the Strategic and Tactical Opportunities group’s presence across the United States
- Manage the U.S.-based team
- Establish strategic priorities and lead projects
- Allocate resources effectively and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture
- Partner with senior partners, client teams, firm leadership, clients, and external stakeholders
- Monitor markets, industries, financial products, and emerging themes
- Translate complex market and industry developments into commercially relevant insights and actionable recommendations
- Identify and evaluate opportunities across sectors, geographies, products, and transactions
- Connect market developments with the firm’s capabilities, relationships, and strategic priorities
- Lead high-profile, strategically important projects from inception through delivery
- Define analytical approaches, mobilize resources, and ensure rigorous, high-quality outputs
- Travel regularly to other Latham offices and client locations worldwide
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor's degree
- A JD, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree from a leading global institution, preferably
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in investment banking, investment management, equity research, management consulting, strategic advisory, corporate finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated progression into senior roles with responsibility for leading complex, high-impact work and advising senior stakeholders
- Proven experience developing market, investment or strategic analysis and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights
- A minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience
- Experience working with law firms, professional services firms, institutional investors or sophisticated corporate clients, preferably
- Exceptional analytical, strategic and commercial judgment
- Deep knowledge of financial markets, industries and products
- Outstanding communication and executive presence
- Ability to engage effectively with senior management, partners, clients, investors, and other external stakeholders
- Ability to protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information
