About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and monitor knowledge management projects under the firm’s KM Initiative
  • Work with attorneys to complete KM projects and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Monitor legal and industry developments across the HCLS Practice’s regulatory scope and communicate key information to stakeholders
  • Assist with strategy development and conduct substantive research
  • Manage the creation of thought leadership across HCLS areas of expertise
  • Support development and use of AI tools to increase attorney efficiency and effectiveness
  • Identify, collect, and organize precedent and other work product in knowledge management databases
  • Create intranet sites where relevant to provide access to HCLS knowledge
  • Support training programs by setting curricula, delegating presentation tasks, and preparing training materials
  • Act as a sounding board for attorneys’ technical legal queries on HCLS matters
  • Collaborate with KM Lawyers and Business Development, Brand & Communications, Technology, Research & Library, and other departments
  • Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive technical legal knowledge in the healthcare and life sciences sector
  • In-depth industry knowledge, including familiarity with major industry players
  • Understanding of healthcare and life sciences terminology, resources, and regulatory schemes
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple internal clients successfully
  • Pro-active, self-starter mindset
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • General understanding of corporate dealmaking processes, including capital markets, private equity, and M&A, from a regulatory perspective is a plus
  • JD or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of relevant law firm or equivalent experience as a practicing attorney
  • Extensive experience with healthcare and life sciences law and regulation, focused on healthcare and life sciences industry sectors
