About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute comprehensive lawyer training programs across the firm
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, committees, and firm stakeholders to enhance curricula and support training initiatives
  • Advise Global Department Chairs, Practice Group Chairs, and Practice Group Management Teams on lawyer training priorities, resource allocation, and alignment with firm and practice group goals
  • Support the TACE Committee and Litigation & Trial Department leaders in developing and executing Litigation & Trial-related training
  • Develop programs including Litigation & Trial boot camp, practice group retreats, persuasive writing, e-Discovery, deposition training, and trial advocacy
  • Design, develop, and implement training curricula in collaboration with the TACE Committee
  • Prepare committee meeting agendas and retreats, track and implement action items and new initiatives
  • Draft training-related communications for internal and external audiences, including Latham news articles
  • Research training developments, benchmark against law firm peers, and improve existing programs
  • Oversee relevant accreditation and compliance processes for lawyer training programs
  • Manage major training initiatives and special projects
  • Develop relationships with external subject matter experts, consultants, and speakers
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and recruit, hire, train, coach, and manage employee performance
  • Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Experience as an associate in a relevant department in a large law firm, preferably
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • Minimum of seven years of cumulative experience
  • Exceptional professional interpersonal skills, including active listening
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with people at all organizational levels
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus
  • Ability to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods, and implement solutions
