About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Calendar deadlines and respond to complex procedural inquiries
- Conduct research and handle review and filing of legal papers
- Research and analyze applicable court rules and procedures
- Serve as a dedicated resource for attorneys on calendaring, procedure, and related court matters
- Prepare roadmaps guiding attorneys through procedural and logistical elements of complex court filings
- Flag procedural nuances and provide strategic pointers
- Oversee and perform major facets of court services, including reviewing court and agency filings
- Analyze judicial court adversary analytics and create judicial profiles
- Review transcripts, handle service of process and subpoenas, process correct fees, and update court rules and litigation forms
- Select and use attorney services companies and transmit filings to courts and agencies
- Research and communicate developments in litigation and court procedure
- Review legal documents for procedural form, including stipulations, notices of appeal, substitutions of counsel, subpoenas, judgments, affidavits of service, and foreign service of process forms
- Electronically file court papers and remain current on electronic filing rules
- Coordinate with court personnel and process servers as needed
- Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- J.D. degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school preferred
- Advanced research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to resolve complex procedural issues in a court context
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts
- Knowledge of calendaring, court procedures, legal filings, electronic filing rules, and litigation processes
- Ability to protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information
