Senior Financial Analyst – Quant
Latham & Watkins. Provide financial modeling on transactional deals for the Corporate Department’s leading practice groups, including Emerging Companies & Growth, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide financial modeling on transactional deals for the Corporate Department’s leading practice groups, including Emerging Companies & Growth, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity
- Develop financial models, including proforma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger consideration spreadsheets, voting models, and IPO beneficial ownership models
- Collaborate closely with lawyer deal teams
- Produce and refine client-ready financial models
- Communicate analysis and work product to partners, associates, and external clients
- Advise internal deal teams and clients based on analyses
- Address questions regarding underlying data, analytical methodologies, and assumptions used to build work product
- Participate in educational classes for the firm’s lawyers related to quantitative analysis and financial modelling
- Maintain, update, and curate training materials, including reference guides, training presentations, training exercises, and tip sheets
- Train and mentor other analysts
- Promote effective work practices and work as a team member
- Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, accounting, business administration, management, or related field
- Financial/investment industry qualification (CFA) preferably
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, consulting, or M&A, preferably in a professional services organization
- Minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience
- Experience working on transactional engagements in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment, preferably
- Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to draw conclusions from analysis and make recommendations
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
- Ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information
