About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop strategic and proactive media relations campaigns that deliver high-impact results and advance the firm’s business goals
  • Proactively seek media opportunities to profile the firm, practice groups, and individual attorneys
  • Manage proactive press outreach and reactive media
  • Monitor and respond to issues that may arise
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal and business journalists, editors, and media outlets
  • Connect reporters with firm partners serving as media sources
  • Lead strategic profile-raising initiatives
  • Create media kits, talking points, statements, press releases, award submissions, survey responses, and other communication materials
  • Ensure consistent and effective messaging
  • Place byline articles and create opportunities to leverage thought leadership for press commentary
  • Support promotion of practice expertise and work through the firm’s social media programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, business administration, or related field
  • Relevant public relations experience at a PR agency or in-house, with a significant focus on press office responsibilities
  • Experience and familiarity with the legal industry, preferably
  • Experience navigating a complex global environment
  • Knowledge of core public relations principles, including media, digital, communications, branding, market research, and competitive intelligence
  • Superior leadership skills, including organising, planning, problem-solving and decision-making
  • Excellent professional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
