About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the technical side of serious deals from discovery through architecture, demos, POCs, implementation, and production
- Run the full technical sales cycle
- Meet customers and demonstrate hands-on how the product solves their problems
- Build POCs and technical proposals that convert prospects into signed customers
- Answer complex technical questions and involve engineering when needed
- Relay prospect feedback to product and engineering
- Split time approximately 50/50 between pre-sales and implementation
- Report to the VP of Revenue and Success with direct access to founders
- Work on a technical deal scenario during the paid work trial
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-7 years in pre-sales engineering or solutions engineering at a dev tools, API, or data infra company, as an individual contributor
- Built and delivered POCs for enterprise prospects independently
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, RAG, agents, or AI data pipelines
- Ability to read and write code and use an API independently
- Ability to discuss architecture with engineers and ROI with VPs
- Genuine energy for customer conversations and ownership over deal outcomes
- Authorized to work in the US already; US citizens or Green Card holders; no visa sponsorship
- Shipped AI-native project, preferably with a public repository
- Closed deal that the candidate can size and explain their role in
- Ability to participate in a paid 1–2 week work trial
