About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the employee experience across the entire lifecycle for UK and US teams
  • Own and manage new-starter onboarding from contract creation through day one
  • Prepare contracts, addendums, welcome materials and induction sessions
  • Ensure accounts, tools and equipment are set up before employees start
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new joiners during pre-boarding
  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including contract changes, letters and documentation
  • Handle offboarding processes and ensure compliance
  • Manage probation processes, reviews and completion tracking
  • Maintain and audit employee data in HiBob
  • Support monthly UK and US payroll with accurate inputs
  • Act as first point of contact for employee queries about people topics, systems and payroll
  • Support performance cycles, pay reviews and benefits rollouts
  • Support initiatives involving culture, wellbeing, learning and development, and DEI
  • Identify inefficiencies, update documentation and lead process-improvement projects for onboarding and operational workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination or similar roles
  • Ideally experience in a startup, scale-up or small HR team
  • Hands-on experience managing onboarding, including preparing contracts and handling contract changes
  • Exposure to the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding
  • Some exposure to payroll; UK, US or both is a bonus
  • Experience working with colleagues or processes outside the UK, particularly the US, is a big plus
  • Familiarity with HR tools such as HiBob, Ashby, Notion or similar
  • Comfort with handling sensitive data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive mindset focused on identifying and improving inefficiencies
  • People-first attitude and genuine interest in helping teams thrive
  • Ability to work hybrid with 3 days onsite per week
  • Must address UK work visa sponsorship requirements
