About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deploy, monitor, and maintain multiple large applications and hundreds of customer environments hosted in AWS
Improve internal automation using Infrastructure as Code tools
Maintain and add features to the infrastructure control plane
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues as the primary on-call contact
Participate in an on-call rotation of roughly one week per month supporting a 24/7/365 SLA
Collaborate with the Director of DevSecOps and SRE team on security, reliability, performance, and cost improvements
Collaborate with product development teams on deployment and operational factors affecting application development
Collaborate with support and integration teams on customer-environment deployment and operational issues
Continuously improve site reliability, security, automation, networking, and system-operations knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

US-based only
Extensive experience with one or more Unix CLIs, including zsh/bash, non-graphical text editors, git, and common shell utilities for system administration
Extensive experience using AWS resources to deploy highly available web application platforms
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code
Experience applying security tools, controls, and policies
Experience configuring and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines
Experience deploying and orchestrating containerized resources such as Docker and Kubernetes
Broad knowledge of AWS resources including EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudFront, ElastiCache, SQS, Route53, ELB, and Lambda
Broad knowledge of DNS, CDNs, load balancers, web servers, application servers, MySQL databases, TCP/UDP, RFC 1918 subnets, and NAT
Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools
Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other automated task management tools
Familiarity with web application development using HTML, CSS, and contemporary frameworks in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar
Familiarity with non-web-based scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or Go
Must include developer test source code with the application
