About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drafting defenses, motions, objections, and appeals at all court levels.
  • Preparing hearing briefs for local counsel, including legal strategy, mandatory objections to preserve for appeal, witness questions, and settlement authority limits.
  • Reviewing hearing minutes, identifying rulings and waived or forfeited issues, and reiterating objections in closing submissions.
  • Handling judgment liquidation and enforcement proceedings, including challenges to calculations, motions to stay or oppose enforcement, and defenses against asset freezes.
  • Drafting expert-witness questions, analyzing expert reports, and engaging technical assistants.
  • Requesting and organizing supporting information and documents from clients.
  • Keeping case files updated in the system, with tasks, deadlines, and provisions maintained on schedule.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Law degree and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
  • Experience in defendant-side labor litigation, managing a high-volume caseload.
  • Strong knowledge of the litigation stages: merits, appeals, judgment liquidation, and enforcement.
  • Experience with outsourcing and subsidiary and joint liability, including TST Precedent 331, STF ADC 16 and Theme 246, culpa in vigilando, and matters specific to public-sector contracting entities.
  • Familiarity with evidentiary hearings.
  • Experience handling technical evidence, including expert questions, report review, and the use of technical assistants in unhealthy-work and hazardous-work claims.
  • Proficiency in working with case-management platforms that track tasks and deadlines.
