About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Carry out trade mark searches and prepare and file trade mark applications.
  • Manage trade mark portfolios, including monitoring deadlines, providing regular client updates, and assisting with maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the trade mark application process.
  • Support lawyers with evidence of use projects.
  • Prepare and file trade mark documentation with IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO.
  • Support Australian and international businesses in protecting, managing and enforcing brand assets.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 1 year of experience as Paralegal or administrative assistant in a busy legal environment.
  • Available to work full-time, including approximately two days per week in the office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Highly efficient, organised, and tech savvy.
  • Cool and calm under pressure.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a high-performing team.
  • Prior experience in trade mark matters is highly valued but not essential.
  • Law degree welcomed but not required; this role does not provide a pathway to a law graduate position in the team.
