About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and validate new verticals, categories, and product offerings to expand LegitScript’s addressable market
  • Discover and validate market problems through structured customer, evaluator, and prospect interviews
  • Map competitive and alternative-solution landscapes and develop strategies for competing
  • Build a repeatable market-intelligence system covering win/loss analysis, competitive tracking, customer discovery, and emerging-market research
  • Define target markets and analyze segments
  • Determine appropriate direct, partner, and referral distribution channels
  • Own the multi-quarter product roadmap and partner with product management and engineering on delivery plans
  • Build business plans and financial models with finance for investment decisions
  • Establish pricing, packaging, and distribution strategies
  • Recommend build, buy, or partner approaches, including partner profiles and terms
  • Create differentiated value propositions
  • Hand validated opportunities to product management with problem definitions, target segments, success criteria, and commercial rationale
  • Present investment recommendations and defensible models to the executive team
  • Move market intelligence through the organization from customers, competitors, and partners into executive perspectives and product roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years across product strategy, corporate strategy, product management, or business development
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, regtech, compliance, or trust and safety
  • Ability to structure ambiguous commercial questions, build analyses, and defend conclusions before executives
  • Direct experience monetizing data, including ownership of an externally sold or licensed data product
  • SQL proficiency and hands-on experience querying large datasets
  • Python experience
  • Experience with Databricks and Power BI
  • Knowledge of data requirements for AI developers and detection systems, including coverage, recall, confidence thresholds, schema, field-level utility, freshness, batch export, and near real-time APIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with financial modeling, market sizing, pricing analysis, unit economics, and investment cases
  • Experience negotiating or structuring data licensing and data-sharing agreements
  • Experience running structured customer discovery and applying product strategy frameworks
  • Familiarity with legal and contractual limits on data licensing, including permitted use, provenance, and privacy
  • Ability to influence product, engineering, research, sales, and executive stakeholders without formal authority
  • Strategy consulting background preferred
  • Direct experience driving AI transformation at a software company preferred
  • Domain experience in payments, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, supplements, financial crime, marketplaces, or advertising platforms preferred
  • Living proximity to Portland, Oregon preferred
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • International remote work is not supported
