About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and deploy the short-, medium- and long-term procurement strategy for the UPS and battery category across the Group.
- Represent the Procurement function in projects from the early offer-creation phases and contribute to technical, industrial and supplier decisions.
- Lead RFQs, supplier consultations, bid analyses, negotiations and supplier selection for new projects, offer developments and resourcing plans.
- Conduct market analyses and supplier and price benchmarks, and monitor cost drivers and trends related to materials, components and transportation.
- Identify productivity, standardization, dual-sourcing, redesign-to-cost and supplier-panel localization opportunities.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, local buyers, international procurement contacts and suppliers through qualification and the transition to serial production.
- Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, service levels, innovation, CSR, compliance and risk, and lead Business Reviews.
- Establish the required contracts, confidentiality agreements and long-term agreements in coordination with the Legal department.
- Ensure the economic, quality, delivery, CSR and innovation performance of the categories, and promote best practices across the Procurement network.
- Provide regular reporting on achievements, risks, action plans, sourcing decisions and productivity gains.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Procurement, or an engineering degree supplemented by a specialization in Procurement.
- At least five years of experience in direct procurement, technical sourcing, category management and/or project procurement in an international industrial environment.
- Strong command of negotiation techniques, RFQs, financial analysis, contract management and strategic supplier management.
- Good understanding of the technical and industrial challenges associated with UPS solutions, batteries, power electronics, energy storage or related components.
- Good understanding of macroeconomic factors, market analysis, supplier benchmarking, cost-driver analysis and the development of multi-region sourcing strategies.
- Knowledge of offer-creation project management, industrialization, supplier qualification and risk-management methodologies.
- Ability to mobilize cross-functional teams in a global matrix organization and achieve objectives without direct authority.
- Proficiency in business tools (EcoVadis, ERP, etc.) and collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, etc.).
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English, minimum C1 level.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, influencing and coordination skills, with the ability to lead an international network of buyers.
- Self-motivated, sound judgment, responsive, curious and interested in new technologies and innovation.
- Awareness of ethics, compliance, carbon-emissions reduction and supplier-risk management issues.
