About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond to technical questions about products and applications for sales teams, distributors, and end-users within established service levels
  • Process product complaints, enter them into the database, and ensure appropriate customer responses
  • Identify product quality issues and trends and communicate them to internal resources for corrective action
  • Review complaint collection and customer communication processes for improvement
  • Develop and update cross-reference databases, web Q&As, technical information, and related resources
  • Support product training courses, how-to tips, and competitive analysis
  • Provide third-party certifications and technical documentation to customers
  • Review new product prototypes for function and ease of installation
  • Provide product gap and design-change feedback to Product Managers and engineering
  • Perform Marketing Department project assignments and related duties
  • Manage the defective replacement parts budget to actual
  • Travel occasionally if necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in engineering or related technical field or equivalent education and experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in the electrical industry in a customer or technical support role, engineering, or electrical contracting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products, their applications, governing codes and standards, and installation techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot application questions and quality problems and train others in proper technique
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently, assess product complaint severity, and determine when to escalate issues
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail, meeting management, internet, and web-based resources
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to create reports, presentations, and business correspondence
  • Effective listening skills and ability to validate understanding
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
