About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with the clinical care team on pre-visit planning to ensure smooth practice operations and patient flow
Conduct workflows for care gap closures, referral authorizations, and medication authorizations
Conduct patient outreach regarding care and appointment needs
Communicate with patients via telephone, patient portal, and virtual platforms
Facilitate virtual rooming and virtual appointment concierge calls for telehealth appointments
Provide instructions for tests and procedures and educate patients on what to expect
Support intake for annual wellness visits
Manage visit prior authorizations and referral appointments
Support empanelment for assigned practices
Serve as an expert and liaison for patients and families using the patient portal and medical record technology
Offer virtual care concierge assistance and guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Technical School Diploma as a Medical Assistant or Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant
2 years experience interacting with patients and performing identified core functions of a MA
3 years experience working within a complex health system environment or related field
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to handle numerous tasks at the same time
Superior customer service skills
Working knowledge of basic computer functionality
Effective and professional written and verbal communication
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Critical thinking skills and solution focused approach
Associate’s Degree Medical Assisting preferred
Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and scheduling software preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - NHA - State of Pennsylvania preferred
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use; patient care providers may perform kneeling, bending, squatting and CPR
