About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in and support pre-visit planning in collaboration with the clinical care team
  • Conduct workflows for care gap closures, referral authorizations, and medication authorizations
  • Support care plan compliance through patient outreach regarding care and appointment needs
  • Communicate with patients via telephone, patient portal, and other applicable virtual platforms
  • Facilitate virtual rooming and virtual appointment concierge calls for telehealth appointments
  • Provide clear instructions for test/procedure preparation and education about what to expect
  • Support intake for annual well visits
  • Manage visit prior authorizations and referral appointments
  • Support empanelment for assigned practices
  • Serve as an expert and liaison to patients and families regarding the patient portal and medical record technology
  • Function as a virtual care concierge partner, providing assistance and guidance as appropriate
  • Support patients and practices collectively in a regional capacity, including within physical and virtual care environments and outside practice walls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical School Diploma as a Medical Assistant or Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant
  • 2 years of experience interacting with patients and performing identified core functions of a Medical Assistant
  • 3 years of experience working within a complex health system environment or related field
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks at the same time
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functionality
  • Effective and professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Critical thinking skills and solution focused approach
  • Associate’s Degree Medical Assisting preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and scheduling software preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - NHA - State of Pennsylvania preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use; patient care providers may need to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR
  • Must be able to work onsite at the designated location
