About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform diagnostic CT and radiologic quality imaging under physician direction
- Operate imaging equipment, injectors, and monitors safely and properly
- Review images and repeat exams as necessary while maintaining radiation protection standards
- Communicate with patients, explain examinations, and keep patients informed of exam progress
- Verify exam orders and deliver images to the correct patient folder in PACS
- Document LMP, fluoroscopy time, image count, relevant history, adverse contrast reactions, and changes in patient condition
- Prepare patients by reviewing charts/scripts, assessing needs and medical history, and providing education
- Provide direct care to high-acuity emergency, inpatient, outpatient, trauma, and ICU patients
- Attend department and mandatory meetings
- Assist with education and training of new employees, students, and ancillary personnel
- Coordinate daily work duties and exam timing with the team
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled work accurately and timely while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical School Diploma; graduate of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent
- 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- 1 year of experience as a CT technologist
- Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures
- Knowledge and skills to perform all imaging exams on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols
- Proficient use of advanced software for CT scanning and post-procedure processing applications
- Strong aptitude for CT technology
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification in Pennsylvania within 30 days
- RT – Registered Technologist Radiology certification in Pennsylvania upon hire
- CT – Computed Tomography ARRT certification in Pennsylvania upon hire
- Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull patients and perform lateral transfers
- Frequent to continuous standing/walking; patient transporters may walk 8–10 miles per shift
- Ability to perform role-specific activities including kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR
