About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images and prepare them for radiologist interpretation
  • Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards
  • Ensure exams, images, patient folders, physician orders, and required documentation are accurate and complete
  • Maintain supplies and equipment needed for patient care and departmental requirements
  • Coordinate daily work duties and exam timing within the team
  • Ensure images cross into PACS before study completion
  • Report equipment malfunctions and repair needs
  • Assist with educating and training new employees, students, and ancillary personnel
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness of the work area
  • Provide direct patient care and customer service for emergency, inpatient, outpatient, trauma, and ICU patients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical School Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
  • Less than 1 year completion of Radiologic program
  • Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, family, and physicians
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
  • Understanding of how to effectively and safely use radiation producing equipment
  • Knowledge of medical technology and terminology
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania upon hire
  • Lift and carry 25 lbs.; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use; patient care providers may perform kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR
