About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images and prepare them for radiologist interpretation
- Provide radiation protection according to prescribed safety standards
- Verify exam orders, patient folders, physician signatures, ordered studies, reasons for tests, and required information
- Monitor supplies and equipment for patient-care and departmental requirements
- Document LMP, fluoroscopy time, radiologist, number of images, patient history, and other required information
- Coordinate daily work duties and exam timing with the team
- Ensure images transfer to PACS before completing studies
- Report equipment malfunctions and repair or adjustment needs
- Assist with educating and training new employees, students, and ancillary personnel
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness of the work area
- Deliver high-quality patient care and customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical School Diploma
- Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
- Completion of Radiologic program
- Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, family, and physicians
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
- Understanding of how to effectively and safely use radiation producing equipment
- Knowledge of medical technology and terminology
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania
- RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania upon hire
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs., push/pull up to 140 lbs., and carry 80 lbs. short distances
- Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead
