About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clinical support and training to standardize procedures and support day-to-day staff coverage
- Serve as a resource for clinical team members
- Provide cost-effective patient care under the direction of an LPN, RN, or provider
- Perform front-desk clerical and administrative duties
- Assist with developing, implementing, evaluating, and enforcing clinic policies and objectives
- Assist management with investigating and resolving complaints and problems
- Prepare patients and equipment for exams and procedures
- Collect medical histories and process medication refills according to protocol
- Assist with injections and vital-sign checks
- Handle inbound and outbound patient calls
- Cover multiple positions and departments
- Mentor and train new and existing staff on clinical processes and procedures
- Support training, scheduling, mentoring, and completion of staff activities
- Provide direct clinical support to providers
- Process day-end closing and maintain medical records and office documentation
- Use evaluations, workflows, and quality monitoring; perform chart audits
- Attend to patients’ health needs and gather demographic and billing information
Requirements
What you’ll need- Specialized Diploma Medical Assistant
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience
- Able to manage and organize medical records
- Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others
- Skill in planning, organizing, and decision-making
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public
- Knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- One of the following certifications upon hire in Pennsylvania: CCMA (NHA), CMA (AAMA), CMAC (AMCA), MAC (AMCA), NCMA (NCTT), NRCMA (NAHP), or RMA (AMT)
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use
- Patient care providers may be required to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR
