About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and provide clerical and administrative duties for daily physician practice operations
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and healthcare providers
- Deliver customer service supporting the overall patient experience
- Perform detail-oriented administrative tasks according to organizational policies and standard work
- Gather information for accurate patient registration and check-in
- Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and precertification
- Complete medical record release requests
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Maintain patient schedule flow and support a positive patient experience
- Collaborate on training, staffing, and operational functionality while providing feedback
- Monitor insurance provider coverage and reimbursement changes
- Manage interruptions and changing priorities
- Perform scheduling, scanning, billing, filing, referrals, work queues, and other clerical functions
- Conduct patient outreach by telephone and EMR messaging
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year customer service experience
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to maintain accuracy and compliance with detail-oriented responsibilities
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficient computer skills
- Proven proficiency with technology and EMR workflows at the conclusion of orientation
- Ability to handle cash and other patient payment methods accurately
- Ability to explain, educate, and support use of the LVHN patient portal and its features
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting and standing
- Frequent keyboard use
- Must perform role-specific physical activities where applicable, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR
