About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform quality, comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and associated treatment interventions under supervision
  • Gather and analyze patient information, including reviewing medical history
  • Prepare and calibrate testing equipment
  • Explain testing procedures to patients
  • Perform bio-calibrations and impedance testing
  • Assist with polysomnographic record scoring and reporting according to department protocols
  • Hook up sleep equipment and ensure appropriate data acquisition
  • Continuously monitor patients and clinical events visually and auditorily during recordings
  • Implement interventions to eliminate recording artifacts
  • Provide treatment modalities according to department protocol
  • Document observations and pertinent clinical information in patients' medical records
  • Perform post-test cleaning, sterilization, and equipment maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, and competent patient care
  • Demonstrates computer skills appropriate for the position
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 90 Days
  • RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographer Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists within 3 Years
  • DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • Ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking
  • Ability to perform role-specific activities including kneeling, bending, squatting and CPR
  • Preferred: Technical School Diploma
  • Preferred: 1 year successful completion of college-level math and science coursework
  • Preferred: 1 year relevant work in the health care industry
  • Preferred: Knowledge/experience with EPIC system
  • Preferred: Knowledge of procedures and equipment routinely used in sleep testing
  • Preferred: Knowledge of and ability to perform sleep equipment hook-up and monitoring
