About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work closely with patient navigators, clinicians, hospital staff, referring physicians, and insurance carriers
  • Provide administrative and scheduling support throughout the practices
  • Obtain all necessary information required to maintain provider schedules
  • Coordinate provider availability for office hours, inpatient and outpatient services, scheduled meetings and conferences, and vacation or time off
  • Monitor and update schedules throughout the day and distribute changes to affected parties
  • Anticipate patients’ expectations and educational needs
  • Understand basic requirements for procedures to answer basic patient inquiries or direct inquiries appropriately
  • Monitor use of scheduled time and identify schedule conflicts
  • Update patient charts and electronic health record information with pertinent patient and insurance information
  • Attend and participate in contract, committee, and all-staff meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely
  • Computer skills and word processing proficiency
  • Knowledge and working use of medical terminology
  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree
  • Preferred: 4 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • Preferred: Knowledge of physician practice scheduling software
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting/standing
  • Frequent keyboard use
  • Patient care providers may be required to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR
