Key responsibilities & impact
  • Represent Lely within its premium distribution channel to farmers
  • Create a profitable, enjoyable, and sustainable future in farming while ensuring customer satisfaction and efficiency
  • Engage customers in long-term relationships and provide high-quality service and advice
  • Sell and promote Lely’s total solutions, products, and services
  • Attract and connect with potential future customers within the assigned territory
  • Visit customers regularly and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
  • Advise potential customers about new developments, products, and product improvements
  • Create customer quotes, determine project pricing, and negotiate price, deadlines, and quantities
  • Participate in and assist with marketing campaigns, bus tours, open houses, Learn with Lely events, trade shows, email, mail, and phone activities
  • Generate new sales leads through cold calling, acquisition, online activities, farm visits, and database follow-up
  • Maintain an active field presence, traveling within the assigned territory approximately 3–4 days per week
  • Create and maintain the sales funnel using Lely’s CRM tool
  • Keep CRM records and sales/project folders up to date
  • Maintain and report an accurate producer visit schedule
  • Monitor customer segmentation, market trends, competitors’ activities, and field campaigns
  • Collaborate on the annual sales plan and targets and ensure sales targets are achieved
  • Collaborate with the Lely Center Monroe Manager and Project Lead to ensure a positive and accurate customer handoff after the sale
  • Grow adoption and market share of Lely’s full product portfolio and services and increase the use of robotics
  • Create and develop a dedicated team with the right knowledge and skills to become a professional and sustainable partner for farmers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of business management experience focusing on sales and/or marketing, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Knowledge of the Dairy Industry
  • A strong dairy network would be viewed as an asset
  • Knowledge of computers, PC networking, and Business communications
  • Team player who inspires team culture
  • Attention to detail ensuring each sale is delivered as a successful project
  • Effective verbal and written communicator, adapting communication style to the audience
  • Skilled at focus-oriented planning, prioritization, and time management
  • Trusted advisor ensuring excellent customer support, satisfaction, and responsiveness
  • Takes initiative and self-direction
  • Ability to collaborate, present information, respond to questions, and provide assistance when working with customers, co-workers, and a wide range of dairy professionals
