About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a caseload of DSARs and other data rights requests from receipt through closure, tracking statutory deadlines
  • Liaise with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Complaints teams to locate and extract relevant customer data
  • Review and redact data to protect third-party information and apply relevant exemptions
  • Maintain accurate records of requests, decisions, and rationale for auditability
  • Communicate with customers about the status and outcomes of their requests
  • Escalate complex, high-risk, or ambiguous requests to the Data Protection Officer or Legal team
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to improving DSAR procedures and tooling
  • Maintain current knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and ICO guidance
  • Champion AI tools and technology to improve DSAR process efficiency and accuracy
  • Adapt to fluctuating request volumes while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Complete a DSAR handling exercise and UK GDPR/data rights assessment during the interview process
  • Attend an onsite interview and meet the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload against strict statutory deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing and redacting sensitive personal data
  • Ability to work confidently across multiple internal systems to locate, extract, and compile customer data
  • Clear written communication and ability to explain data rights and outcomes to customers in plain English
  • Sound judgement in identifying and applying relevant exemptions and escalating complex or high-risk requests appropriately
  • Experience handling data rights requests, working in regulated financial services, or in data protection, compliance, or information governance
  • Experience with DSARs, subject access requests, or other data rights requests in a regulated environment
  • Understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and ICO guidance
  • Experience with redaction tools and case management systems
  • Understanding of sensitive financial services data, including loans, cards, and auto-finance
  • Experience liaising with the ICO or handling escalated data protection complaints
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and compliance standards
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to work in the office three days per week
