About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive the architecture and implementation of Lendbuzz’s core platform for scalability and reliability
Build and maintain Python backend services behind RESTful APIs and Kafka-based event-driven workflows
Modernize legacy architecture by migrating the core platform to containerized AWS services
Split domain functionality into microservices and roll them out safely with canary releases
Improve CI/CD and developer experience through faster tests and better deployment workflows
Strengthen reliability with monitoring, health checks, autoscaling, scheduled jobs, and data pipelines
Collaborate with product and platform teams to unblock delivery and improve shared systems
Build high-quality, scalable backend systems that support Lendbuzz’s financial technology products

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of production backend software development experience
Proficient Python expertise
Experience designing scalable microservices and complex event-driven architectures using Kafka and RabbitMQ or Temporal
Familiarity with agentic development workflows and AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
Technical fluency with relational databases including PostgreSQL and AWS RDS
Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
Experience with container management using ECS or Kubernetes
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Ability to independently tackle complex technical challenges and production issues while collaborating within a team
