About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and execute the strategy for BSA/AML data, technology, analytics, and transaction monitoring capabilities
  • Lead BSA/AML data and technology needs across business lines, partnering with Compliance, Technology, Risk, and other teams
  • Own performance and ongoing evolution of BSA/AML technology, including production issue resolution, system enhancements, and optimization across internal platforms and third-party vendors
  • Lead technology implementations supporting case investigations, transaction monitoring, KYC, sanctions, and watchlist screening
  • Build and manage the transaction monitoring rule development program, including rule design, optimization, analytics, and performance monitoring
  • Partner with Model Risk Management on model governance, validation engagements, annual reviews, and issue remediation
  • Own BSA/AML data requirements for risk assessments, reporting, quality assurance and controls, validation, regulatory inquiries, and issue remediation
  • Use AI and automation to improve transaction monitoring, analytics, and compliance workflows with appropriate governance and human oversight
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in banking or financial services, with deep expertise in BSA/AML data, technology, analytics, or transaction monitoring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong command of KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions and watchlist screening, and supporting data and technology capabilities
  • Experience with BSA/AML technology platforms such as Verafin, Bridger, Oscilar, or similar solutions
  • Demonstrated experience leading quantitative analytics functions, including strategy for model or transaction monitoring optimization and adoption across teams
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments and delivering outcomes across competing priorities, complex regulatory requirements, and evolving business needs
  • Ability to apply rigor, judgment, and integrity to BSA/AML risk decisions
  • Ability to build partnerships across Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business teams
  • Perspective on AI leverage across BSA/AML data and technology and experience translating it into team operations
  • Engagement with evolving regulatory expectations around AI, model risk, and data governance
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, set direction, develop talent, and hold teams accountable for measurable outcomes
  • Experience with sanctions and watchlist screening technology
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations related to BSA/AML or Sanctions programs
  • CAMS or similar AML certification is a nice to have
