About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Loan Officers while developing skills and knowledge to become a Loan Officer
  • Participate in formal online and classroom training programs covering lending, loan types, creditworthiness, and loan approval
  • Train with managers on mortgage rate sheets to accurately price and lock loans
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to learn the mortgage process from application through closing
  • Update loan applications with missing data
  • Maintain notes in the Loan Origination System to ensure complete information exchange
  • Occasionally provide initial file setup
  • Participate in builder and realtor functions to develop and maintain relationships
  • Work with Division Managers and Loan Officers on local marketing campaigns
  • Ensure borrowers can reach the team through phone, email, and chat and receive prompt responses
  • Act as primary contact between borrowers and Loan Officers
  • Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss follow-up issues and required items
  • Assist processors and closers in obtaining loan documents from borrowers and other entities
  • Engage and assist internal associates through phone, email, and chat

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BA or BS preferred
  • Mortgage or banking experience preferred
  • Experience articulating product or service features, benefits, and value
  • Genuine passion for ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Successfully complete testing for mortgage licensing and appropriate state licensing as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RESPA through continuing education courses
  • Ability to attend in person at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours
  • Ability to work more than eight hours per day in confined construction-trailer quarters
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and/or carry equipment over 50 pounds
  • May require occasional operation of construction equipment
  • Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
