About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define next-generation mechanical architectures across General Purpose Servers, High Performance Computing (HPC), High-Availability Storage, Networking, and Accelerator/AI systems for hyperscale and cloud data centers
Understand current and future mechanical and thermal design trends
Architect new mechanical chassis and/or sub-assemblies for future product designs
Understand and model thermal properties of new designs
Develop thermal/mechanical specifications for suppliers
Work with suppliers and China-based Product Delivery teams on mechanical/thermal design execution and development
Collaborate with Lenovo Global Supply Chain to optimize design cost
Advise and consult with the China Product Delivery team on technical issue resolution
Engage directly with customers

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10+ years' experience in Mechanical/Thermal design
Experience using mechanical/thermal design tools including PTC Creo, Pro/E, Flowtherm, etc.
Very strong communication skills
Strong knowledge of Server/Storage Systems and their components
Experience working/interacting with multi-national and cross-functional teams
Fluent in using Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
