About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain highly critical backend services in a financial transaction environment, ensuring availability, consistency, and traceability
  • Technically lead product roadmap initiatives, from refinement with the Product Owner through production deployment
  • Design and evolve integrations with partners and providers across the payments ecosystem, including acquirers, gateways, registrars, processors, fraud prevention providers, and ERPs
  • Define and review architecture decisions, including data modeling, API contracts, resilience strategies, idempotency, and failure handling
  • Support LMP's proprietary systems by investigating incidents and addressing root causes
  • Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting for services owned by the squad
  • Review code, provide technical support to mid-level and junior developers, and promote engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams, translating business needs into technical solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in backend development with Python and/or Node.js
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and data modeling in relational databases
  • Experience with non-relational databases
  • Experience with AWS and serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, and Step Functions or equivalent services
  • Experience with event-driven architecture
  • Experience with REST API integrations and asynchronous processing
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code review practices
  • Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems
  • Ability to break down complex initiatives and clearly communicate technical decisions
  • Preferred: experience in payment methods, acquiring, sub-acquiring, or payment institutions
  • Preferred: knowledge of PIX, payment arrangements, receivables registration (CERC), settlement, financial reconciliation, or fraud prevention
  • Preferred: familiarity with Central Bank of Brazil regulations applicable to payment institutions
  • Preferred: experience with GCP/BigQuery, data pipelines, and BI tools
  • Preferred: experience integrating with retail ERPs (SAP, ViaSoft) and low-code tools (Retool)
