About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and set the strategy for Leonardo UK and its subsidiaries for Government Contracting and Accounting
- Represent Leonardo UK and the wider Group on commercial and financial matters in UK government, regional and trade bodies
- Develop and implement a framework of engagement with UK Government on financial and economic policy
- Review and influence legislation, statutory guidance and contractual matters
- Provide a strong, trusted relationship that optimises Leonardo UK’s position for UK Defence
- Provide direction and define policy to ensure compliance with Government statutes and practices operated within the UK company
- Support company-wide interaction with the UK Ministry of Defence and other government agencies
- Define, implement, support and communicate relevant changes to UK finance and commercial teams across the UK relating to UK Government and MoD contractual and financial matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- Commercially astute with desirable legal experience
- Considerable defence industry, policy and contracting experience
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strategic critical thinking
- Strong leadership; develops, delegates and empowers
- Results driven and highly motivated
- High integrity and professionalism
- Single source contracting knowledge
- Subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
- May be subject to additional National Security Vetting (NSV), including eligibility requirements for Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV)
