About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with customers and their families in-store and in their homes to create personalized living spaces
- Provide professional sales, design guidance, and decorating services
- Build expertise in space planning, product knowledge, and client consultation
- Progressively take on advanced design responsibilities and deliver home furnishing solutions including furniture, mattresses, accessories, and home décor
- Use Decorating Studio packages and services to provide tailored, cohesive design solutions
- Complete core training required for the Sales Associate role
- Greet and assist customers in-store
- Help customers explore furniture and décor options fitting their style and budget
- Ask questions to understand customer needs and suggest solutions
- Assist with purchases, financing options, and delivery coordination
- Follow up with customers by calls, texts, or emails
- Support store operations by tagging merchandise, organizing displays, and preparing sales events
- Shadow and support team members during in-home or virtual consultations
- Use company tools and systems, including tablets, POS systems, and basic design software
- Attend training sessions and team meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- High-energy, entrepreneurial and team-oriented people person
- Excellent and effective communication and listening skills
- Willingness to learn and ability to be trained/coached
- Customer service experience, face-to-face preferred
- Experience and/or proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, POS systems, digital/mobile devices, and computer-based systems and technologies
- Ability to meet physical demands and requirements of the position
- Flexibility/availability to work retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or special events
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and/or ASID/ISD Certified
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and reach regularly
- Ability to climb stairs occasionally, dependent upon location
- Ability to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to travel/commute to different store and customer home/client site locations
- Previous Interior Design experience and/or education strongly preferred
- Sales, upselling, and/or marketing experience and/or education preferred
