About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the trusted People reference for Madrid and Barcelona teams in Spain
- Answer People-related requests quickly and clearly
- Own the employee lifecycle from contracts through onboarding and benefits
- Manage payroll inputs and people data
- Coordinate with external payroll partners to ensure monthly accuracy
- Partner with legal advisors to establish scalable Spanish compliance standards
- Use AI, HiBob, and data to automate manual work
- Build dashboards to support faster People team decisions
- Help establish People Operations standards as the Spanish team and other geographies grow
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1-3 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or as an HR Generalist
- Hands-on experience with contracts, onboarding, and payroll
- Knowledge of Spanish labor law fundamentals
- Experience handling contracts, onboarding, and resignations
- Experience with payroll run through an external provider
- Comfortable working with HRIS, data, and AI
- Ability to identify and automate repetitive tasks
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines, including monthly payroll
- Proactive and resilient approach
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Native Spanish
- Fluent English at C1+ level
- Familiarity with HiBob or similar HR and payroll tools is a bonus
- Interest in the legal industry is a bonus; no legal background required
