About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Search for optimal component pairings for HVAC OEM customers.
- Assist OEM customers in identifying and qualifying compressor opportunities.
- Provide technical or process support during qualification and reliability activities for LG products.
- Assist in developing customer business cases for new concept solutions.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for new compressor applications.
- Serve as a sales engineer and individual project team leader, assessing design/application risks of large projects.
- Perform detailed engineering analysis to quantify cost savings or other customer benefits.
- Develop submittals and presentations, including performance information, component lists, mechanical and process and instrumentation drawings, vendor component information, and project milestone information.
- Interface with vendors and factory engineering for critical analysis.
- Participate in trade shows or exhibitions connected with LG business.
- Travel domestically occasionally (around 10%) and internationally (1–3 weeks annually).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field, as appropriate.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC Compressor Design and Manufacturing related to residential and/or commercial Air Conditioner and/or Heat Pump Products, or 5+ years of experience in HVAC UNIT Design and Manufacturing related to residential and/or commercial Air Conditioner and/or Heat Pump Products.
- Member of ASHRAE, AHRI and function-specific licenses or certifications preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development of projects.
- Fully competent in analysis and assessment of mechanical and electronic systems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in customer-facing situations.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong basic computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%, both domestically and internationally.
