About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a long-term strategy for the data center cooling business.
- Establish annual and multi-year revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
- Identify emerging opportunities in hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI data center markets.
- Lead strategic planning and business expansion initiatives.
- Develop executive-level relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and technology developments.
- Lead sales functions for data center cooling solutions.
- Achieve bookings, revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Develop strategic account plans and lead negotiations on major projects and agreements.
- Improve sales effectiveness through process optimization, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Provide executive leadership for customer-facing engineering, project management, and aftermarket teams.
- Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and industry associations.
- Partner with Product Management on product roadmaps, product enhancements, and innovation.
- Provide voice-of-customer feedback and ensure products align with evolving data center standards.
- Develop product routing and aftermarket parts programs.
- Build relationships with data center owners, developers, consultants, design firms, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Build market intelligence in AI data centers, high-density computing, and liquid cooling.
- Build and develop a high-performing organization through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, retention, and succession planning.
- Foster collaboration and promote accountability, innovation, and customer success.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 15 years of HVAC, applied equipment, or building systems experience.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering strongly preferred.
- MBA strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Proven record leading national sales organizations.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar revenue businesses.
- Strong background in chiller systems and applied HVAC solutions.
- Demonstrated success developing executive-level customer relationships.
- Direct data center industry experience.
- Experience selling to hyperscale customers.
- Experience supporting mission-critical facilities.
- Experience leading both sales and engineering functions.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Home office-based with proximity to a hub airport for travel purposes.
- Preferred markets include Northern Virginia, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Chicago, Silicon Valley, or remote.
