Key responsibilities & impact

Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul ship-to-shore, rubber-tired gantry, and rail-mounted gantry cranes
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification for proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
Clean, lubricate, and perform routine equipment maintenance
Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
Overhaul and test machines or equipment for operating efficiency
Diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, pressure gauges, and other test instruments
Inspect parts, dimensions, and clearances for conformance to factory specifications
Complete paperwork, work reports, timesheets, expense reports, and related documentation
Maintain quality standards through visual and mechanical inspections
Promote and follow established safety procedures
Handle and dispose of hazardous waste
Prepare jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
Assist customers with troubleshooting and parts-related questions
Maintain company tools, machines, equipment, and service literature
Attend required training sessions
Temporarily assume lead-person responsibilities as necessary
Train and mentor other department employees
Maintain awareness of technical changes

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school graduate or GED
At least 5+ years direct experience with Liebherr Port Equipment as a technician
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport
Ability to work overtime, weekends, or on-call duty
Ability to successfully complete factory authorized training
Working knowledge of Crane Management software
Ability to read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
Ability to complete jobs independently with little assistance
Ability to maintain the minimum set of tools required for job performance
