About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile equipment including crawler cranes and drilling rigs
  • Repair crane components in the LNC yard, shop, or field
  • Test and modify electrical machinery, control equipment, circuitry, and mechanical equipment
  • Operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot machine problems and evaluate repairs
  • Test repaired or modified equipment for performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
  • Operate and inspect heavy equipment to diagnose defects
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Examine parts using micrometers and gauges
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
  • Verify dimensions and clearances against factory specifications
  • Complete assigned paperwork
  • Maintain quality standards through visual and mechanical inspections
  • Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Oversee handling and disposal of hazardous waste
  • Maintain punctuality, professional demeanor, clean work areas, respectful communication, and compliance with company programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate or GED
  • At least three years of experience as a technician in the crane business
  • Ability to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile equipment such as crawler cranes and drilling rigs
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and electrical control equipment and circuitry
  • Knowledge of mechanical theory and operational machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in PC-based word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 90% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call duty
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to multitask and complete work competently and professionally
  • Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Houston, TX; Frenchtown, NJ; or Miami, FL
