About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile equipment such as crawler cranes and drilling rigs
- Repair crane components in the yard, shop, or field
- Test and modify electrical machinery, control equipment, and circuitry
- Test and modify mechanical machinery and equipment
- Operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot problems and evaluate repairs
- Test repaired or modified equipment for performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
- Operate and inspect heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Examine parts using micrometers and gauges
- Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Overhaul and test machines for operating efficiency
- Diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
- Inspect dimensions and clearances for conformance to factory specifications
- Complete assigned paperwork
- Maintain quality standards through visual and mechanical inspections
- Promote a safe work environment and follow established safety procedures
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste
- Maintain punctuality, professional demeanor, orderly work areas, respectful communication, and compliance with company programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or GED
- At least three years of experience as a technician in the crane business
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 90% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call duty
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
