Key Account Manager – Retail

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a defined portfolio of electrical retail accounts within an agreed geographical area
- Deliver sales, volume, margin and profitability targets
- Grow key retail accounts through proactive account management
- Track rebates, turnover figures and turnover per account
- Monitor sales, sell-through, stock, distribution, promotional effectiveness and forecast accuracy
- Develop relationships with buyers, commercial teams and retail stakeholders
- Drive distribution, ranging, availability, product presence and market share
- Produce sales forecasts and communicate changes, risks and market conditions
- Collaborate with the Sales office and other departments to maximise productivity and reduce costs
- Maintain accurate customer, contact and account activity databases
- Support product demonstrations, training, showroom activity and retail events
- Participate in trade and consumer shows, retailer events and customer meetings
- Create and implement customer business plans
- Report monthly on account progress and recommend solutions to grow share
- Plan bespoke promotions and deliver promotional activity during key trading periods
- Coordinate Sirius and CIH Buying Group Trade Shows
- Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews with each Key Account
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in a similar role or industry
- GCSE passes grades A-C in Mathematics and English
- Full clean driving licence
- Passion for sales coupled with excellent results
- Experience within the MDA electrical market
- Ability to achieve sales, volume and margin targets
- Ability to develop and manage key retail accounts
- Ability to build strong professional relationships with retail partners
- Valid work authorization to work in the United Kingdom is implied by the UK-based role
