About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take responsibility for a production cell comprising CNC machines dedicated to machining low-volume and repair parts, as well as fitting and assembly activities
- Serve as the hands-on manager and point of reference for the smooth operation of the area
- Lead, support and develop a team of approximately 20 employees
- Organize production and optimize human and technical resources
- Ensure performance in line with quality, cost, delivery, safety and environmental objectives
- Provide technical expertise on machining issues and lead their resolution with the Methods, Quality and Logistics teams
- Lead QRQC meetings and ensure follow-up of action plans
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster a shop-floor culture based on accountability, collaboration and operational excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum technical qualification equivalent to a two- or three-year post-secondary degree
- Experience in a demanding industrial environment, with mandatory experience in machining, whether in production, industrial methods or quality
- Strong machining background and understanding of processes, manufacturing constraints and workshop challenges
- Initial successful experience in management or team leadership
- Technical credibility when working with experienced operators
- Experience as a Workshop Manager, Team Leader or Technical Lead with supervisory responsibilities is preferred, with potential to progress toward greater management responsibility
